Approach and anchoring

Approach from the north between the Pointe du Chateau and the rocks of An Dourlin. The visitor buoys near the harbour entrance lie over a sandbank where ebb and flood raise a steep surf and a short bore, dangerous on big coefficients, so prefer the buoys at the head of the bay. The inner part dries at low water springs and suits only boats that can take the ground; otherwise lie in deeper water. Sheltered from NW, W, SW and S, exposed to N and NE swell. No night entry advised, unlit approach.

Practical

Around 30 visitor buoys laid by the commune from April to October. Water tap on the quay. No fuel, no boatyard. Bakery, grocer and pharmacy within 200 m of the quay in the village, and a market on Wednesdays in season.

Ashore

Sandy beach of Le Moulin de la Rive at 900 m along the GR34. Church of Saint-Jacques, 16th century, facing the quay. The Hotel du Port restaurant on the quay is reachable by dinghy and good value on the weekday set menu. Grand Hotel des Bains, used as the main location for the 2002 film L'Equipier directed by Philippe Lioret, on the promontory above the anchorage.
