Approach and anchoring

Reached along the Canal du Nivernais, which links the Yonne at Auxerre to the Loire at Saint-Léger-des-Vignes over 174 km and 110 locks. The canal is open to navigation from April to October. Locks are operated by VNF. Air draught and lock dimensions limit craft to the Freycinet standard.

Practical

Base for canal boats without a licence, aimed at weekly holiday rentals. Pontoon with water and electricity, sanitary block, briefing room and parking on site. Diesel available at the base for rental units. Bread and basic groceries at Corbigny, 2 to 3 km away.

Ashore

Corbigny with its former Benedictine abbey of Saint-Léonard, market on Friday morning, under 3 km. Canal towpath open to cyclists and walkers, continuous along the Nivernais. Morvan regional natural park starts a few kilometres to the south-east, with forest walks and lakes.
