Approach and anchoring

Approached through the channel just south of Liberty Island, on the west side of the Statue of Liberty. Anchor close to the park bulkhead on a sand bottom; the breakwater on the south side is shallow and the seawall edge is rocky, so keep clear of both. Crews often time arrival and departure for high water.

Practical

Fresh water is available. The anchorage is open on all sides, so holding and chain scope matter in the harbour's wind and wash.

Ashore

The anchorage sits within Liberty State Park, with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island close by. Liberty Landing Marina lies 1.3 NM NE and offers a sheltered basin off the Morris Canal.
