Guide

Approach and anchoring

Access from the Loire estuary upstream. Strong tidal currents in the lower Loire, slack water used for berthing. Air draught limited by the Pont Anne-de-Bretagne and the Pont de Cheviré downstream. No night buoyage on the reach.

Practical

A basic, low-cost stop with little in the way of comfort. Shops lie a few hundred metres away and the centre of Nantes is reachable by bus.

Ashore

Trentemoult village 0.6 NM east on the south bank, former captains' quarter with low coloured houses and restaurants along the quai Marcel Boissard. Ponton Belem 1.3 NM NE near the centre of Nantes, close to the Machines de l'Île and the Anneaux de Buren on the quai des Antilles.
