Approach by the canal at low speed. The halt is a short quay on the towpath side, no lock directly at the stop. Next locks are upstream and downstream on the Canal latéral à la Loire. No VHF service on this pound.
Practical
A handful of berths along the quay, free to use, with water and electricity also free, the water point seasonal and no fuel on site. It is a regular stop for hotel barges, so the quay may already be taken. Village bakery and small grocery in Cours-les-Barres within walking distance of the quay. Diesel and fuller services at Marseilles-lès-Aubigny, 2.5 NM north.
Ashore
The quay sits below the village facing the Mairie, with a park alongside for a stroll and little passing foot traffic, quiet at night.
