Approach and anchoring

Approach from the Rade de Brest, keeping the Île Ronde beacon clear to starboard from the west; the buoys are easier to pick up at high water or on neaps. The three visitor buoys, in the first row on arrival and marked AUPB with a large V, are heavy and fouled with weed but sound, and in a calm one can knock against the hull. Protection from E through S to SW, exposed to the NW down the Élorn estuary. Tidal streams in the main rade reach 3 knots on springs, much weaker inside the anse.

Practical

Three visitor buoys, sand bottom if anchoring instead. They appear to be free for about two nights, with no obvious place to pay. Toilets stand on the quay ashore at Pors-Beac'h and a water tap is reported, but there are no showers or fuel. Rostiviec slipway and club lie 1.3 nm NW, Moulin Mer sailing centre 1.5 nm S for dinghy access and basic services.

Ashore

Anse de Moulin Mer oyster park visible at low water. GR 34 coastal path passes above the anchorage, 2 km walk to the Daoulas abbey founded in the 12th century. Logonna-Daoulas village, 2.5 km north, has a bakery and a grocer.
