Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sheltered from north round through east to south, open to the west. Navily records a rock bottom, so look for sand patches before anchoring.
Practical
Anchoring is allowed according to Navily. No moorings or pontoon. Water Island is linked to Crown Bay Marina on St. Thomas by a small ferry of 10 to 15 minutes.
Ashore
Water Island became the fourth US Virgin Island in 1996. Fort Segarra, a coastal battery begun during the Second World War and never finished, has tunnels that walkers can explore.
