Approach and anchoring

Reached by water from Bayou Petit Caillou, which links to Terrebonne Bay and the inshore marsh. Cocodrie is the end of the road south of Chauvin, so the marina serves as a launch point for both inshore and offshore grounds.

Practical

Boat ramps, fuel, furnished lodging and dry storage. The Lighthouse Restaurant and Bar and The Barge convenience store are on site, along with a pool and a children's splash area. Charter boats run inshore and offshore trips for redfish, speckled trout, tuna and snapper.

Ashore

Cocodrie sits at the edge of the marsh with few facilities beyond the marina itself. The LUMCON marine research centre is a short distance up the bayou and runs public events. The surrounding marsh is open water more than land, with bird and alligator habitat.
