A small supermarket sits near the town square, with a larger Intermarché to the north-west for a bigger shop. Bakery and restaurants in the town centre within 500 m of the basin. A competent boatyard lies about 200 m away, where a little English is spoken and cash is preferred. Hire-boat bases on the canal.
Ashore
Market day is Thursday in the town centre. Castelsarrasin holds the Saint-Sauveur church, a brick-built edifice dating from the 13th century. The Canal des Deux Mers cycle route runs along the towpath, linking Bordeaux to Sète. Moissac and its abbey church of Saint-Pierre, a UNESCO site on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, lie about 12 km downstream.
