Approach and anchoring

Merrick Bay reaches the Atlantic through Jones Inlet, about 20 minutes away via the New York State Boat Channel. The inlet has shifting sand bars and constantly changing depths, best not attempted without local knowledge.

Practical

Around 270 berths on floating docks for boats up to 55 feet, with 5 feet at the approach and dockside. Eighty dry-stack valet spaces, certified mechanics on hand six days a week, pump-out and fish-cleaning stations. A family centre has a pool, picnic areas, restrooms and showers, all under 24-hour video surveillance.
