Approach and anchoring

The anchorage lies on the Big Marco River about a quarter of a mile inside the Gulf entrance and roughly half a mile north of the Judge S.S. Jolley Bridge. Holding is on sand. Tidal current runs along the river, so anchor with swinging room clear of the marked channel and other boats. Florida anchoring rules vary by area, so check local limits before settling in for the night.

Practical

Pelican Pier Marina is within 0.1 nm to the south-west, with petrol, bait, ice and a ships' store. Marina At Factory Bay is 0.3 nm to the south. Fresh water is available ashore. Shops and restaurants are on Marco Island within a short distance of the marinas.
