All-transient marina on the Front Street waterfront in historic Beaufort, North Carolina, on Taylor Creek.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Beaufort Docks fronts Taylor Creek along Front Street, reached from Beaufort Inlet up Bulkhead Channel, or from the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway through Gallants Channel under the 65 ft fixed bridge. No marina sits closer to the inlet. Watch the strong tidal stream through the creek; berths take draughts up to about 4.3 metres.
Practical
42 floating docks for vessels up to 17 metres, plus over 850 ft of side-tie dockage taking yachts to 73 metres. Fuel berth on the dock with diesel and petrol, shore power, heads and showers. An all-transient marina, one of the most used cruiser stops on the Intracoastal Waterway.
Ashore
The marina lands you directly in the historic district, with Front Street shops and restaurants at the dock gate. The North Carolina Maritime Museum is about 200 m west. Rachel Carson Reserve, with its wild horses, lies across Taylor Creek.
