Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach by day. Mixed sand and rock bottom, holding varies, drop in sand patches between 3 and 6 m. Dense weed grows within about 200 metres of the shore, so anchor well out on the sand. Shelter from N, NE and E winds, open to the south-west swell. The coast is steep with a few drying rocks close in.
Practical
Port Aux Moines 1 nm south-east offers moorings. Chantier naval du Lindin 2,4 nm north-east for haul-out and repairs.
Ashore
In season, dinghy landing is only allowed at the north-west end of the beach, reached through a buoyed channel from the green buoy to the line of yellow buoys off the Rohu yacht club. The GR340 coastal path crosses the cliffs above the anchorage and links the south coast of Belle-Île from Le Palais to Bangor. Fort Sarah-Bernhardt, the actress' former home on the Pointe des Poulains, lies 12 km north-west by road.
