This page explains how to permanently delete your BoatMap account, and how to delete only some of your data without closing the account, in accordance with GDPR article 17 (right to erasure). MOQA STUDIO (https://boatmap.app) is the publisher of the BoatMap application.
Part A — Delete specific data without closing your account
A.1 In the mobile app
Every piece of content you create can be removed individually from the app:
- Trips: Profile → My trips → open a trip → menu (⋯) → Delete.
- Reviews: Profile → My reviews → open a review → menu (⋯) → Delete.
- Saved lists: Profile → My lists → open a list → menu (⋯) → Delete list, or remove a location individually.
- Photos and videos: open the media attached to a trip or review → menu (⋯) → Delete.
- Profile picture and boats: Profile → Edit profile.
A.2 Targeted email request
To delete specific data you cannot remove from the app, email hello[at]boatmap.app with the subject “Data deletion”, specifying which data is concerned (trip ID, review URL, etc.). Requests are processed within 30 days.
Part B — Delete your entire account
B.1 From the mobile app
- Open the BoatMap app and sign in.
- Go to Profile (bottom-right icon).
- Scroll down to Delete my account.
- Confirm the deletion.
B.2 Email request (if you can no longer sign in)
If you have lost access to your account, send an email from the address linked to your account to hello[at]boatmap.app with the subject “Account deletion”. Requests are processed within 30 days.
Data that is deleted
Account deletion permanently removes:
- account credentials (email, Apple/Google OAuth identifiers);
- user profile (first name, last name, photo, boats, preferences);
- user-generated content: reviews, saved lists, recorded GPS tracks, attached photos and videos;
- location and search history;
- session identifiers and authentication tokens.

Active subscriptions
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play. You must cancel the subscription from your Apple or Google account settings, either before or after deletion.
